Developed Our Neighborhood Sign Design
We’re sharing with you an example of what can be accomplished when community citizens work together.
We developed six initial designs for The Timbers community in Arnold, Maryland for an updated welcome sign at the entrance of our neighborhood. After input from each committee volunteer, two designs were further evolved then finals presented to all of the residents for a vote. The winning design features a strong tree branch symbolizing the layout of our neighborhood, like a map. The leaves represent the individual homes, and colors chosen integrate with nature and surrounding park, an important benefit of The Timbers.
Each person involved with the project offered their own unique talents and contributed greatly to make this collaboration happen. Special thanks go to the Miller family. They are the owners of Park Hardware in Severna Park and Zeskind's Hardware and Millwork. Rick Miller’s knowledge and expertise was invaluable, as well as his generosity in asking his skilled workers of Zeskind’s to hand fabricate the sign out of a sustainable wood-like material that will last for many years.
Having neighbors come together to achieve a goal which will improve their community is a beautiful example of Citizen Pride.
