It was a great honor for Joe Barsin to be asked to create an original illustration for the USNA Class of 1966's 50th Reunion. His work was unveiled to the Homecoming Celebration in Annapolis on October 22, 2016. Joe Barsin worked closely with Jim Gavin (pictured together) on developing the sketches for Executive Committee approval. The highlight of this experience involved touring the Academy and discussing the changes that have been made since 1966. We wanted to make sure the illustration reflected a midshipmen's experience during their time on the U.S. Naval Academy campus, which included Bancroft Hall, The Naval Chapel, Tecumseh statue, Navy Bill the Goat statue (which has been moved since 1966) and the right of passage for all midshipmen, placing the cover onto of the Herdon Monument.

"Joe, The USNA Class of '66 truly appreciates your effort and great design for our 50th Reunion illustration. You captured our memories of the Naval Academy.
All the Best, Jim Gavin"
